Introduction
We have to do routine maintenance to use an exhaust hood efficiently. Routine maintenance of a system is a regular check-up for a system. Routine maintenance involves:
looking for common problems,
solving them, and
cleaning the system
During maintenance, we need to ensure that:
the system is working correctly,
it is operating safely,
the electricity bills are efficient and optimal, and
the equipment has prolonged life
Taking care of the exhaust hood will keep it running efficiently and looking new for a long time.
Before doing routine maintenance for an exhaust unit, we have to disconnect the power supply to the exhaust hood.
Filter
Filters should be cleaned once in a month or as needed. Pull the metal latch down to remove the filter.
For cleaning filters, we first need to remove the filters from the hood. We let the filters soak for 15 to 20 mins in hot and soapy water. We then scrub the filters lightly and rinse filters with water and dry them. Finally, we put the filters in their places.
Blower
For cleaning the blower, we have to remove the baffles and filter. Then we need to dismantle the blower and clean it. Finally, we’ve to reinsert the fan back into the exhaust hood.
Light
Inspect whether all the lights are working or not. If any light is not working, remove the light and change it with a new one.
Cleaning Surface
We have to inspect whether all the lights are working or not. Finally, we have to clean the surface of the exhaust hood as the last step in routine maintenance.
